Back, Neck and Joint Pain

Pain and malfunction of the back, neck and other joints of the body can come
from many causes. For example, neck pain can be the result of: poor
posture, vertebra and rib misalignment, muscle, ligament and tendon strain,
fascial restriction and cranial faults. This wide range of possible causes
requires an equally wide range of treatments. Doctors or therapists who
believe that one style of treatment, such as exercise or spinal adjustment
can resolve all neck problems are mistaken. Only doctors, who through an
accurate diagnosis can identify the cause or causes of the neck pain and
then can follow up with effective treatment, will achieve consistently good
results.

Since all joints are comprised of bones, ligaments, muscles and tendons,
these are always areas of possible malfunction and pain and should be
evaluated anytime joint pain exists.

The more a doctor understands the connections that exist throughout the
body, the more effective treatment will be. An interesting example of this
is mid back pain or pain under the shoulder blades. Pain in these areas is
often caused by gall bladder malfunction especially when the pain favors the
right side of the back. When gall bladder problems are the cause of middle
back pain, exercise, stretching, spinal adjustment and anti-inflammatory
medication will only give temporary if any results. Proper treatment to the
gall bladder with a nutritional supplement, (surgery to the gall bladder is
only rarely needed), usually results in rapid and long-term improvement.

Every joint has a different shape, muscle and ligament attachments and
function. An understanding of how to test the different aspects of a joint
will usually reveal the where the problems lie. Once the problems have been
found, treatment may involve therapy, specific exercises, adjustment,
nutrition or orthopedic supports.
